For the past few days I’ve been on vacation at the beach on Edisto Island in South Carolina. I’ve been making art, skipping into the ocean and eating A LOT of snacks. There is no schedule. I’ve been doing whatever moves me in the moment and it’s been bliss until I realized I needed to write this newsletter. I LOVE creating this newsletter each week for all of you but It does take concentration and discipline for me to be able to transfer the ideas from my head (which are often channeled and without form) into this emailed format that hopefully makes sense (and is interesting) to you. I always throw a tiny fit when I have to sit down and concentrate because it feels like I have to give up the magic and spaciousness that comes with living spontaneously. But as we all know, balance is necessary to live a harmonious life and I want to reframe what it means to create structure so that I can live more in flow and bring my ideas to life. Instead of using the word structure I might envision creating a home- a safe and solid space that I can transform my ideas into physical reality. It’s important to give yourself a container with which to pull those divine sparks into a form that can be recognized by the outside world. Not because you’re trying to conform but because you’re trying to communicate. We all have our own unique ways in which we interact with/express/embody the divine. Oftentimes this kind of interaction doesn’t have language because it transcends that kind of communication. I feel like i’ m going off on a bit of a tangent but, the point I’m trying to make is that we must balance being formless with structure, we need both. We can give ourselves helpful practices to build discipline so that we don’t feel bound up. For me, it’s important to get still and quiet before going into focus mode. Also, when I’m in focus mode I take frequent breaks where I can dip back into spontaneity. It helps me to process what I’m working on and allows me space to remain authentic. I’d love to know your thoughts on this! Feel free to reply to this email with your practices or thoughts on balancing being in the magic with being in the physical form.

Journal Prompt: What practices help you to focus? Do you have resistance to these practices? If so, what comes up for you when you think about that resistance?

Journal Prompt: Write about all the parts of your existence that are formless. Now write about all the parts that are formed. What are the benefits of both?

Journal Prompt: Think of a color and then meditate on that color for 3 mins. Now write down what the color feels, tastes and smells like. At first this might seem like a strange observation for a color but use all of your senses to really lean into these sensations when thinking about the color.
Please share this post with a friend you think would find it helpful! We are in this together <3
sending BIG love!
