A game of Snake and Mouse

Before we get into this week’s affirmations + journal prompts. I have a magical story to tell you about my recent experience with a snake and a mouse...

Two weeks ago I found a mouse in my car and this event became the physical manifestation of an inner transformation pushing me to face my fears. Ok, so here’s the situation: I am (or should I say was…) deathly afraid of mice. I don’t care how small, ya girl is running the other way! So, when a dead mouse appeared just outside of my car 2 weeks ago I was quite alarmed but a week later when ANOTHER mouse darted across my foot with its stringy little tail as I was sitting in my car, just about to turn on my engine while out getting art supplies, I damn near passed out. Guys, I HAD TO DRIVE HOME WITH A MOUSE IN MY CAR! There was nobody available to pick me up and when the construction guys came over to help me out, the mouse was conveniently nowhere to be found. Once I was able to lower my heart rate I realized two things: There’s a deeper message to be explore and there’s probably more than one mouse in my car that I need to track down and get rid of. At the same time all of this was happening, I was carrying a deep, emotional heaviness that I thought was pms but after sitting down to journal it was clear that the stars and the cosmos were aligning to initiate me into a portal of healing that would involve awareness and action. Ok, lemme hurry and wrap this long ass story up. Indeed, four more mice did show up. After days of setting traps, getting my car deep cleaned and putting mint bags everywhere, the mice got gone. And to bring clarity to my emotions I journaled, meditated and worked through my inner fear in a very new way because ridding the mice from my car was about me saving my own damn day! I have the courage and the power to protect myself. AND THAT’s NOT IT! That same day I had a break through with my internal fear, I opened the door to go outside and there is a snake, right there, looking up at me as if she was waiting for me. The snakes, I’m actually not scared of. This particular snake was a reminder that in a game of snake and mouse there are lessons to be learned from both and I have the power to choose which I will embody.

Journal Prompt: What are some helpful tools that you use to calm and ground yourself? How can you make these tools more easily accessible?

Journal Prompt: What is the last difficult emotion you experienced? When you feel into it, what stories come up for you?

Journal Prompt: Where is a place in the world that you feel safe? What emotions/visualizations come up when you think of this place? What are some ways that you can access these same feelings when you're not physically in that space?

Please share this post with a friend you think would find it helpful! We are in this together <3

sending BIG love!
