We are evolving...

There is not one single person who isn’t affected by the times we are living in and evolution is asking us to answer the call coming from within ourselves.  What is your body communicating to you? How can your emotions become the information that guides you to your highest self?

How’s your spirit, friend? We are witnessing some of the most horrifying human behaviors and at the same time I’m sure you have also experienced or at least witnessed some of the most beautiful moments. Being aware of these kind of human extremes has the ability to stop you in your tracks because you’re not sure which direction to move. Do you run towards the burning fires and help put them out or do you protect and care for the beauty that still exists? The answer isn’t as binary as we may like it to be but, it can be clear.

The answers are within you. And I’m being so serious when I say that. Learning to listen to your body will open up a world of signals that will guide you on your life’s journey. For example, is there a lot of anger coming up for you right now? Follow that feeling. Journal about where it first started because this moment is not the beginning. At the same time it’s so important for us to rest, laugh and move our bodies. This is how we transform. Below are some tools for bringing you back to self in moments of chaos.

Root

Regular meditation is one of the best ways to not only get in touch with your body but also to root your energy so that you feel grounded. Practicing grounding meditations can help you cultivate a sense of safety within yourself. Meditation doesn’t always have to be still. It can be slow stretching with deep breaths, walking around in nature or staring at the trees while focusing on your breath.

Explore

Once you feel grounded you can explore the different emotions that your energy is carrying. Sometimes you need space to just feel the energy and release it. Some helpful releases might be crying, screaming, dancing or pounding your feet into the ground. Once the emotion feels manageable you can journal about the deeper meanings. If you’ve experienced severe trauma, therapy might be a great support.

Listen

When you start building a deeper relationship with your body you will notice the different ways it communicates with you. When asked to go to an event you may feel the answer as a calm no in your body. This is different than feeling tightening in the chest which would probably mean you are experiencing anxiety which can be different than an intuitive response. Trust your knowing.

Remember to be patience with yourself and protect your energy.  Be mindful of how much of it you’re giving away, and what kinds of energy you’re allowing into your space and body. More on the power of our energy, next time!
