Money Magic

Money Alignment...

On Saturday I was listening to the latest episode of the Expanded podcast and at one point they were exploring this idea of “how little can you live off of to experience a life that is truly authentic to you?”. This really interested me because there is a belief in modern American life that you are supposed to earn more money and buy more things as you get older as if it’s a signifier of your growth and value as a human being. It encourages us to spend money without reflecting on how it improves your life from an aligned place. As women we’re sold an idea that femininity means we should be getting our hair, nails and bikini wax done weekly and always have new clothing. If we opt into this kind of reasoning, we will always feel like we don’t have enough and that we are not enough. For a while now I’ve been in the practice of appreciating my life, right now, as it is. And when I do have the desire to earn more money or buy more things, I try and filter the desire down to a place that honors my inner truth, and get rid of anything that feels like a “should”. Below are a few affirmations and journal prompts on aligned money manifestation. Take what you need and leave the rest.

Journal Prompt: Is there a time in your past where you felt you didn’t have what you needed to take care of yourself? What comes up for you when you think of this time? Were there any areas where you felt you were undeserving of having what you needed because of something someone said or societal programming you took in subconsciously? After writing about this, take 5 mins and give that version of you full, unconditional love. It may feel strange at first but sit with whatever comes up. Tell that version of yourself (even if it is the current version of yourself) how worthy they are of having all their needs taken care of simply because they are here. If it helps, imagine a caring grandmother giving the love to you as if you were a small child.

Journal Prompt: Make a list of places you’d like to put your money (home, plants, travel, an idea you have…). Now write down why you want each of these things. If you can’t find a reason, maybe take it off the list? Lastly, write down how much money you would need to bring these ideas to life. Break it down to how much you would need to earn yearly, monthly, weekly.

Journal Prompt: Make a list of all the things in your life you are grateful for. Keep going as long as you can. Then take 5 minutes to sit with this gratitude. Write down what your gratitude feels like in your body.
